UK citizens: British citizens don't need a visa to travel to Croatia for up to 90 days within a 180-day period if they have a valid passport. This applies to travel for tourism, visiting friends or family, business meetings, cultural or sports events, or short-term training or studies. 

When entering Croatia, you'll need to present your UK passport at the port of entry. Immigration officers may ask to see that your passport is valid for the duration of your visit, but it's recommended to keep it valid for at least six months. You may also need to show that you have enough money to support your trip and provide a return or onward ticket. 

If you're staying in Croatia for more than three months, you may need to apply for a residence permit. 

In autumn 2024, the EU will introduce a new digital Entry/Exit System (EES). UK nationals with rights under the Withdrawal Agreement will be exempt from EES registration if they have the correct documentation.


EU citizens: the citizens of the European Union (EU) and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) do not need a visa to visit Croatia. You can also travel to Croatia with a valid passport and a valid residence card of a family member of an EU citizen. 

However, starting in mid-2025, visitors to Croatia will need to apply for the ETIAS travel authorization before departing. ETIAS will apply to non-EU travelers entering the Schengen Area, which will include Croatia.
